Sound Effect License
Sound effects can be artificially created, enhanced sounds, naturally
recorded sounds or created by combining different sound effects. Sound
Effects are used to enhance the viewing experience by making a creative
point without the need to dialogue.
Here are a few of the different types of sound effects uses:
Hard Sound Effects - These are common sounds that appear on screen, such
as glass breaking, a door slamming, a gun firing, etc. These types of
sound effects are the focus of the scene.
Background Sound Effects - These are sounds that you may note pay much
attention to, but would notice if they were missing. For example, with
two people talking on a city street you naturally here the traffic in
the background. Now imagine that scene if all you heard was the
dialogue. This is where background sound effects come in. They fill in
the background with ambient sounds. The SoundElements Sound Effects DVD
has lots of ambient sounds and you can create your own ambient sound
effects, by combining various sound effects and reducing the volume
level so the combine sound effects don't over power the dialogue.
Foley Sound Effects - These are sounds effects that are synchronize to
the action on screen. For example a person walking.
.
Artificially Created Sound Effects - These are sounds that do not
normally occur in nature. For example, a blast from a ray gun or a comet
passing by. These type of sound effects are generally created in the
computer using a base sound effect and modifying the way is sounds. On
the SoundElements Sound Effects DVD, we have included several catagories
of Artificial Sound Effects.
